Mii File Format Guide

• Wii-era formats: RCD and RSD are classic Mii exports used by Wii-era workflows. You'll also run into MII, MIIGX, MAE, and others. These are all just different names of RCD born primarily out of split reverse engineering efforts. RCD/RSD are the official formats as named by Nintendo in their files.
• 3DS and Wii U formats: CFCD, CFSD, FFCD, and FFSD store richer Mii data and often pair with QR workflows. CFED/FFED are unofficial terms to represent the standard encryption used on these codes for QR purposes. PNG, JPG, and other Image formats can be used to hold QR codes that most Mii tools, the 3DS, and the Wii U can scan.
• QR exports: Use qr when you need a scannable code for compatible systems like 3DS and Wii U.
• Modern formats: NFCD, NFSD, and charinfo cover newer Nintendo Mii data workflows.
• My Nintendo Mii Studio: MNMS is the format used in localstorage on the Mii Studio website. You can copy this type as hex to use with most importer/exporter tools.
